John and Rita White of East Alton are announcing the engagement and upcoming spring wedding of their daughter Laura Jo White and Ian Henry Edmiston, son of Gary and Connie Edmiston of Fairview Heights.

The bride-to-be is manager for the Regis Corporation. A 2001 graduate of Roxana High School, she graduated in 2002 from Alvareita's School of Cosmetology. The prospective groom is a tour guide at Gateway Arch in St. Louis. He is a 2003 graduate of Belleville East High School.
